Montreat

This weekend truly could not have been better. In Scofield's words, it was productive. Productive in the sense that we both got some much needed rest, meditation, and relaxation. But also, productive in the sense that we learned a little bit more about each other. We got to practice forgiveness, patience and understanding. We came home loving each other a heck of a lot more....and that, we would say, is productive.
The weekend consisted of a lot of this. Sitting on the porch with blankets and coffee, just like I hoped! We spent all morning, every morning, reading, writing and talking. Not to mention, the weather pretty much forced us to relax. Every day, but Sunday, was a rainy day. In my opinion, it's the Lord's way of saying to us, "Be still."
Friday night we went out to this wonderful little restaurant called Fresh. They used all local, organic ingredients and even had gluten free pizza crust and vegan crust. I was sold. So was my stomach--no problems there.
Scofield got the Alaskan pizza and I, of course, went with the veggie delight. I was not let down--it truly was a delight. If you are ever in Black Mountain, you HAVE to eat at Fresh.
Hmm, looks like someone took a sneak peak (or should I say, sneak pinch) of the bottom pizza. :/ Whoops.
And what is a trip to the mountains without coffee? Nothing--it doesn't exist.
Hence, trip to the Dripolator coffee cottage above.

I hope your weekend was filled with rest and relaxation as well. If not, plan some time for rest into your schedule--you won't be sorry.

Happy Monday!
xoxo
Lauren
