eleuthera: part 1

last week we took a trip to the bahamas with a group from our church. the trip started with a short flight on a DC3 with Missionary Flights International (MFI).  in the words of my dad, a pilot, "classic plane. will be a good experience." and that it was. certainly the most relaxed flight i've ever been on.
we stayed at the eleuthera bible training center, right across from the caribbean ocean.
^on sunday we attended a local haitian church.
^and how fun is this bus!? it was our means of transportation for the week.
and then there were the beaches...one side of the island was the atlantic ocean, and the other side of the island was the caribbean. it was really cool to see the difference between the two. the atlantic [above] was much bluer, and the sand a shade of pink. the caribbean was clear as can be--we could see straight to the bottom. typically i'm not a huge fan of swimming in the ocean, mostly for fear of what is swimming with me, but the clear water eased my anxiety.
i think it's safe to say we both fell in love with the island of eleuthera. now i just have to convince scofield to take me back for vacation...
